I love this series of photographs by Steven Chee for The Ellery Gazette. The barely-there makeup by Charlie Kielty and beach locks by Michael Brennan complement the au naturel images of models Anja Konstantinova, Greta, Dani Seitz, Sarah Lorimer and Saara Sihvonen. It's in the lighting. It's solid, deep and sculpted in a black and white that seems to hold movement, texture and emotion. My question to you, my reader is; do you think nudity is a necessary part of artist expression? Personally I don't think it is unless there's purpose and thought behind it, whether to shock or show vulnerability etc. The fact that it's social convention to cover up makes it all the more interesting when artists do chose to unveil it.
