This summer has been a good one. So good it's as though we're in a place much closer to the equator. Weekends have been packed with social gatherings and it's often taken most of the week to return to normalcy. This weekend somewhat resembled the film "Four Weddings and a Funeral" only it was just one wedding and a funeral. Yesterday a dear friend of mine tied the knot on a boat in Stockholm's skärgård or archipelago. The reception was at Rosendals Trädgård where they serve organic locally produced food. The sun was setting through the apple trees and wild flower fields, there were party lights and coloured flags themed with travel. It was so romantic, I can't describe it and do it justice. These things have a way of setting your priorities straight. It's a clichè but it reminded me that there's more to life than work, there are adventures to be had and you have to go after them.

Indeed they are, but did they ever really go away? The boys I mean. I grew up an esteemed princess amid two brothers, and while in my pearls still managed to keep up. The older I get, the more I shy away from excess and the instant attraction of the shiney and the pretty, the more simplicity holds substance and the more appeal being a tomboy has. Comfort is key and subtlety important. The statement is in the cut, the quality, the details and with such a basic approach a personal touch is defining -  a chain, a pair of silver hoops, a series of bracelets - it all means something.
