THE CHOP

Last week I got my hair cut short. Perhaps it wasn't the smartest idea considering it's getting colder, but something about it feels right at the moment.

PROMISE

At home sick, wishing I weren't and trying to distract myself from my misery with the promise of next year's summer. Next year is also the year we go back to visit family and friends in Australia, so we essentially get two summers. Not bad.

THE FORTUNATE ONES

Good friends share wine, or not, secrets and funny self-defacing stories. They're inappropriate and loud when it's called for (which is most of the time), frequently cut each other's sentences off and say they love you in passing.

NONSENSE

"How do I respond to people who say fashion is frivolous? For better or worse, we all get dressed in the morning. I don't know any naturists." -Sally Singer

Kate knows how to dress, Chanel helps.

THAT FEELING

Vacation is over and now summer is over, but I don't mind as much as I thought I would. With fall in the air, there's actually a lot to look forward to. For one, sweaters and boots and of course blankets back on the bed. I've also just ordered a bunch of books from London that are on their way. Reading while it rains outside is the best. This time of year really makes you look at your home in a new light- what needs changing? At least I can say I've managed not to kill my Ginkgo Biloba plant.

WITH LOVE

Fresh back from our Santorini trip with a tan, bleached-out highlights and more freckles. It was beautiful, all lava beaches, gum trees (if you can believe it-a gift from Australia apparently), cliffs and an excess of tomatoes. There's nothing like getting out, seeing and doing new things to break the monotony of routine. It was a new kind of holiday for me- sunbeds replaced sand, summer hits played in the background and you were constantly surrounded by an array of languages. Before the trip was even over, I was already thinking about where to go next....Positano, maybe....Yep, definitely got bit by the bug.
